Monotype and water colour
I was absorbed by my square paintings for some time then I felt an itch, and this was to return to some of my old neglected companions who had first emerged through with the help of mono type and papier mache. Looking at this old work I thought I had a rich source to develop new work. These belong to the world of daily interactions and busyness. I try to embrace anything that turns up without conferring status or importance to one aspect above another. The drawing is fast and blind as I can’t immediately see how the ink is transferring to the paper. Then it is cast aside to dry completely before working on top with water colour; and then repeat. There are similarities in process to the square paintings. And the same question - how to fully manifest this thing? make it fully itself?
